Animation Research
for the animation before it starts a storyboard is created. in the storyboard they draw or sketch certain scenes and get a mental imagine of what the scene will look like.
for films like star wars there are storyboards for when the rebels are going to destroy the death star. some sketched a rough idea of what the scene would like like, showing the camera angle of the scene and how the camera would follow the rebels.the rebels have the ships X-Wings, designed earlyin the process by Joe Johnson and Colin Cantwell. the director being George Lucas.
John Lasseter
John Lasseter has directed many disney films and 3D animation films.
e.g.
Toy Story
A Bug's Life
Toy Story 2
Cars
Cars 2
Currently directing Toy Story 4
john lasseter directed the movie cars. where disney has already made bugs and toys as their main charactters. this time theyve made cars or any mode of transportation as the main leads. the title being "cars. the movie is about sports car wanting to win a big race but when he gets lost in the middle of nowhere in a small town. he learns winning a race isnt everything. the movie is a 3D generated animation. at pixar they say "art challenges technology, technology inspires art", they push the boundaries of digital animation.
pixar
pixar is a 3D animation company connected to disney. pixar are known for making famous children films such as Toy Story, Cars, the Incredibles, Wall-E and more. pixar began in 1979 as the Graphics Group, part of the Lucasfilms corporations. pixar has produced 17 feature films. the first being Toy Story (1995) and the latest installment being Finding Dory (2016). all films receiving positive reviews. Pixar executives John Lasseter, Brad Bird, Pete Docter, Andrew Stanton, and Lee Unkrich were presented with the Golden Lion award for Lifetime Achievement by the biennial Venice Film Festival. The award was presented by Lucasfilm's founder George Lucas.

Door Opening
Photoshop - First Project
For unit 11 we did our first animation project using photoshop. for this project we had to create an animation where someone would blink, windowing closing or opening, door opening or closing. for my project i chose top animate a door opening. to create the door in photoshop you will.
I need to open adobe prelude CC 2015 and create a new file
Naming the file door opening. for this i set the measurements for the size of the sheet.
Width - 788
height - 576
Resolution - 300
You then click ok and start to work.
When the sheet is up i create the timeline and set the work in motion.
First i drew the door onto the sheet and made it a closed door.
After the closed door i created a new layer and drew the door being opened.
I then started using the time line, making the closed door appear first and then fade into the open door.
Setting the closed door at 100 opacity and open door at 0 opacity
and then when the animation reaches the end. i change the open door opacity to 100 and closed to 0 opacity.
I then changed the animation style from fading to the next frame to jumping to the next frame. i achieved it by putting a hold on interpolation.
After that the animation doesn't fade it jump cuts.

Unit 16 Task 1 IStudio Research
When working on this task I discovered there are many different types of logos. The different types of logos range from 5, those logos are;
Symbol or icon logos. e.g. Apple, Batman Sign, Mercedes'
wordmark logos. e.g Facebook. Disney, Sony
letter mark logos. e.g. McDonalds, H&M, Calvin Klein
combination mark logos. e.g Dunkin' Dunks, Burger King, Puma
emblem logos .e.g Starbucks, NFL, BMW
A logo is the face of a product that's for an app or site, the logo is usually used to make the app stand out and memorable.

A logo is the face of a product that's for an app or site, the logo is usually used to make the app stand out and memorable.
The logo here is Pinterest, the app and site is about save, sort and organise images. The logo is the initials are P and in the middle of the logo there's the P. Around the P there's the red circle that forms the P inside. The logo is stylistic and simple. The design elements are there and it looks simple and straight forward. The Pinterest logo is a symbol logo, the design behind the logo is that it looks to be pinned.
To create this on illustrator you can place in a rectangle and then with the brush tool, you can draw in a shape; in this case a P. once the p is drawn in you can fade out the other unwanted pieces and finally you have the piece.
The PS logo here is a use of 2d and 3d work, there is a use of four colours but the red stands out the most. The style is clever as the S is flat while the P stands up. The PS4 is a type of lettermark logo, you can tell by the logo being entirely text.

From this clip I learned how to position letters in different ways. e.g. how to place letters so they look like they're laying down.
To do this
*You select your letter
*Tilt the letter so it was in another form
*You turn the shape 3D and tilt the shape again but you make it look facing down
*You adjust the shape to your liking
The entire name of a business the logo relies on initials to represent the brand. In order to make this logo on illustrator you need to create an S using the text tool, changing the length and width and then the thickness, placing the shape down making it look like its laying down. You then add the P.
The logo 'Steinias' uses splash effects to make it look artistic and stylistic. The use of the colours are purple and turquoise, the turquoise colours being bigger than the other splashes. There is a sphere in the middle of the logo.

From this video I've learnt how to create the splash effects with a simple circle. by using the crystallise tool you are can create lines erupting from the circle. When this is done again and again on the circle the circle begins to spread out in different splattered ways. After doing this you'd want to go to the effect tool and click distort & transform and then you want to roughen the splatter. You can change the size and detail to your liking. After that you can pull the edges and either extend or lengthen out. To change the colour its simple. you select the shape and choose a colour from the colour block.
